IT Concepts will be introducing the new IRIS™ (Intelligent Remote Visual Inspection System) in the next few weeks. Sources say that this will be the most portable and capable video borescope available to the industrial remote visual inspection market. The new video borescope is expected to be extremely light at 3.3 pound (1.5 Kg) and have a very attractive price.

Extremely compact and ease of use are attributes of the iRis™ Videoscope System by IT Concepts. Inspections in remote or inaccessible areas of  harsh industrial environments now are feasible in no time. Turn the video borescope on and the iRis™ is ready for use within seconds. You can move the distal end to any desired position fast, easy and precisely with the tactile 4-way articulation up to 180° in all directions.

Other features of the new video borescope include: adjustable and interchangeable objectives with different fields of view, f-stops and depths of field. The high brightness of the LED light source ensures high detail and image clearity on the 4.0” high resolution TFT display. The integrated, changeable and rechargeable high power batteries will operate for 2 hours. The handle is a well balanced design for real one-handed operation and allows long and effortless operation of the video borescope. Diameters of 6.0mm or 8.0mm and lengths from 1.5m to 3.0m are currently planned for the new iRis™ videoscope.

About Paul Fitzgerald

Paul C. Fitzgerald, President and CEO, Advanced Inspection Technologies Inc. has been involved in the remote visual inspection industry (RVI), Since leaving the US Marines in 1992. He has a background in business with an economics degree from the University of Rochester and an MBA from Florida Metropolitan University. He served in the United States Marine Corps as an artillery officer. Mr. Fitzgerald is a veteran of Desert Storm. Mr. Fitzgerald began his remote visual inspection career with Schott Fiber Optics where he was responsible for sales throughout the southeastern United States. He was a founding member of Everest Imaging (later GE Inspection Technologies) in 1996 and took on responsibility for sales in Florida and the Caribbean. Mr. Fitzgerald founded Advanced Inspection Technologies in 2008 to offer remote visual inspection solutions throughout North America. His background and experience have given him an excellent overview of the remote visual inspection industry. He has years of experience with RVI applications across multiple industries, applications and geographical areas using a wide variety of available instruments and technology.
