It is common for items such as cell phones, car keys, rolls of duct tape to be dropped into industrial systems during a plant turn around or outage. Loose parts may also cause blockages that could delay plant start up and cost millions of dollars for time delays.
Sometimes simple things work best. A broom stick with duct tape rolled on the end or a fishing hook may pull that hard hat, visitors badge or wrench from the farthest corner. Sometimes these theses trick don’t work and plant engineers resort to cutting lines which add cost and time to any turn around.

Motorized Alligator Jaws
Engineers may not know that there are more sophisticated tools than broom sticks, duct tape and wire hangars. Powerful alligator retrieval jaws are able to grab onto and pull out items such as large bolts, tools and other debris from as far in an industrial system as 200 feet. These are the most sophisticated industrial foreign object retrieval tools ever designed. Typically used in conjunction with a video borescope or push camera engineers are able to quickly locate and remove foreign debris. Next time don’t despair, these can be purchased on short notice and motorized retrieval tool rentals are available for fast delivery.
