High Temperature Resistant Videoscope Probe Exceeds Industry Standards

Video Borescope

Video borescope inspections are often spontaneous and critical in nature. Whether it is a gas turbine, steam turbine, steam line, heat exchanger, or motor operated valves, time to allow machinery to cool is not always an option. Typically, borescope insertion tube resistance to heat has been limited to approximately 176 degrees Fahrenheit. The latest technology provides  temperature resistance nearing 300 degrees Fahrenheit. This capability protects the borescope CCD camera from damage due to excessive temperature exposure. HRSG Steam Turbine

Borescope & Pipe Camera Centering Devices Increase Viewing Capability

Borescope Centering Devices

Video borescope, and pipe camera centering devices increase the viewing capability for the inspector. The borescope centering device easily attaches to the insertion tube just below the articulation point. The centering device keeps the insertion tube up, off the bottom of the tube, or pipe being inspected. Pipe camera skids and/or wheeled centering devices attach to the camera head and assist in pushing the pipe camera push rod through a pipe. This also helps to avoid “plowing” along the inside bottom of a pipe. Centering devices, skids, and wheeled centering devices also provide protection against excessive wear.

Small Diameter Fiberscopes Used to Inspect Gas Turbine Fuel Nozzles

Fiberscopes

Small diameter fiberscopes play an essential role in the maintenance and refurbishment of gas turbine fuel nozzles. These fuel nozzles provide the natural gas, or back-up fuel oil if the natural gas supply is interrupted. Once the air enters the turbine and is compressed, it is then directed to the fuel nozzles, ignited and forced into the combustion chamber. The ignited gas is then channeled through the aft end of the turbine. For an aircraft engine, this provides the forward thrust. For electrical power generation, the 3000 rpm rotor is coupled to a generator to produce electricity.
